support for proxy over https

Postby robert » Wed Sep 03, 2014 2:26 am

Firefox 32 officially supports proxy over https/spdy as Chrome does, is it time for FoxyProxy to also add support for it? Currently if I specify a PAC file returning HTTPS proxy.example.com:port in FoxyProxy on Firefox 32, FoxyProxy pops up an error and proxy is not used. The same PAC works perfectly if configured natively in Firefox network settings (in data:;base64 format).

As I found out, network.proxy.proxy_over_tls config key of Firefox 32 must be switched on to use this feature.

Sorry, just found out it's disabled in official release.

No wonder why Firefox behaved strangely (shows identity warning for proxied http websites, cannot proxy https websites)

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the post. Yes, I am aware of Firefox's new support for HTTPS proxies. It will be added to FoxyProxy as soon as possible.
